Goals

Europa macht Schule (EmS) has, since its founding, offered young people a unique opportunity to experience Europe firsthand and actively contribute to this community. Through dynamic exchanges among all volunteers, EmS actively promotes understanding within Europe and beyond – making “Europe” tangible.

Strengthen, connect, and experience Europe!

International students carry out projects about their home countries at schools throughout Germany. The focus is always on Europe: a diverse mosaic of cultures and traditions that brings people together, celebrates diversity, and continues to grow closer through its shared history and innovative approaches.
The goal of EmS is to open participants’ eyes to this diversity. All participants gain new and different perspectives on Europe, thereby strengthening mutual understanding. At the same time, this sparks an initial interest among students in spending time abroad themselves.

Shaping a shared future – added value for all participants

School classes: expand their knowledge of other cultures, ways of life, languages, political systems, etc., in a playful way. They get to know another country firsthand without traveling.
International students: get to know Germany beyond the university, gain an authentic insight into the German education system, improve their language skills, and acquire numerous competencies.
Students at German universities: gain experience in project management, event planning and organization, while discovering new perspectives on Europe. Through their volunteer work, they help bring Europe closer together.
