About Europa macht Schule

Europa macht Schule is a programme that brings international exchange directly into the classroom. International students visit German school classes and collaborate with students to develop a project about their home country with a European perspective. The aim is to strengthen the European ideal and promote intercultural understanding.

These projects usually take place over three to five lessons and are planned together with teachers. The focus is on creativity and active student participation, for example through presentations, games or cultural activities.

Through direct interaction with international students, young people gain personal insights into different cultures and ways of life. At the same time, prejudices are reduced, and interest in Europe and international exchange is encouraged. At the end of the programme, participants present their results at a joint closing event.

Overall, ‘Europa macht Schule’ helps to bring Europe to life and fosters international understanding in everyday school settings.
