| About "Europa macht Schule" |
"Europa macht Schule" takes European students back to school!"Europa macht Schule" (Europe meets schools) encourages foreign students to come to local schools as representatives of their home countries (“mini ambassadors”). There, they present their home country by organising and realising a project on specific aspects of their culture in co-operation with the pupils and a supervising teacher. This includes three to five visits to the class. A closing event allows all participants of a city to present their projects to a wider public. European exchange students of all fields of study as well as all types of schools can take part in the programme. “Europa macht Schule” brings the idea of inter-European exchange to life, increases the knowledge of European cultures and provides a hands-on experience to the topic “Europe“. It supports incoming students who have newly arrived in their host country and offers the possibility of gaining personal access to other European cultures for local pupils. By taking part in the programme, foreign students are integrated into local life outside the university campus and feel welcome in their host country. The participating pupils learn more about other countries and cultures and will be encouraged to go abroad by getting in close personal contact with people from another European country. Furthermore, "Europa macht Schule" also helps to develop valuable professional competences, such as intercultural sensitivity as well as conceptual, organisational and linguistic skills. "Europa macht Schule" is voluntarily organised by students and graduates at more than 30 German universities. If you are interested in taking part in the programme please check our locations to find out if "Europa macht Schule" is offered at your host university. Further information: |
